KARACHI - Sindh government has re-appointed more than 30 retired officers in various departments of the province violating its own policy in this regard, sources told The Nation. The provincial government has hired the services of 33 retired officers on contract basis and appointed them on 17 to 22 grades. It will be worth mentioning here that PPP government had terminated over 200 officers in grade 17 to grade 22, who had been appointed on contract basis during the previous regime, terming it injustice to the officials already working on various posts. According to sources, various officers who were appointed on contract basis by the previous PML-Q regime have got their contracts renewed by the present government. Ironically, the Sindh cabinet in a meeting held in April 2008, had decided to terminate all officers appointed on contract in various departments of the provincial government.
