I apologize because I'm sure this has been asked a lot.

Usually, the Ring Doorbell serial number should be listed on the label at the back of the device. If you’re unsure where to look for it, follow these steps: Unpack your ring doorbell. Turn the device to the backside (opposite of the camera lens and the ring).

I'm confused as to how to date this gun. I used to know a lot about guns and hunted all the time with my father, he fell ill some five years ago and passed away, before then he just randomly gave me this gun and gave the rest of them to my stupid brother I guess he figured the 1100 would be a good gurly gun and I used to shoot skeet with my little gurly 410.

Frames got machined and stored, then drawn as needed. Obviously S&W did not rotate their stock like grocery stores. Frames/guns in back may have stayed in the back, new production got put in front of them. Some frames got a dash number added, some didn't. I have a 4-screw 14-2 that shipped in 1965. If it has a serial number I would treat it like a class ring with the name and school on it. We should always try to return it to the owner if possible first, then go from there. If you can't track them down or it is unreadable, then you treat it like an unidentifiable ring. What I know it's a 12 gauge, 2 3/4 with a full ribbed barrel. I'm unsure as to how you get the exact length of the barrel. If I pull it out it measures at 33in.
What I'd like to know is how old it is. I know my father purchased it before 1980.
The receiver has the serial 491**V, I understand V to mean 12 gauge. There aren't any prefix codes to the serial.
The barrel has the code AFKI or AFK1, I'm unsure as the stamping is messy.

If no one can help me that's fine, as soon as I register it I can take it to a gunsmith, there's a little broken clip that causes it to jam if you attempt to eject a shell. Because of this I've been holding onto it for the past 6 years and haven't tried shooting it as I'd be concerned it was unsafe but now my daughter is too big for the 410 and wants to shoot something bigger. As I remember this was a nice ladies gun with a minimal kick but it's been over 20 years since I shot it at the local turkey shoot, still don't need any turkeys.

Winchester name brand and the Model 1894 go hand and hand. Designed by John M. Browning in 1893 specifically to be a perfect match for the new 30-30, which was smokeless cartridge. It was a culmination of the evolution of Winchester lever actions and proving to be an extremely versatile rifle.
One of the most notable changes occurred in the 1960s when production costs of the earlier Model 94 design increased dramatically, the company made the decision to find less expensive methods of production or face pricing itself out of the hunting market, which made up a large percentage of retail sales. they chose stamped sheet metal and roll pins for parts previously machined from solid steel.
Most of the shortcomings of the post 1963 Model 94s were eventually corrected, but the pre '64 versions remain the most desirable of all Winchester Model 94s.

The post-64 Winchester model 94 begin with serial number 2,700,000.
Additionally, competition from other manufacturers like Marlin with their model 336, lever action, Winchester changed over from a top eject to an angle eject. The reason for this significant changes was now, with the increased popularity of receiver mounted scopes, it was necessary as the older, top eject did not allow for a traditionally mounted scope. This Angle Eject redesign was produced in 1983 at about serial number 5,300,000.
The Winchester Model 94 was produced by Winchester Repeating Arms Company through 1980 and then by U.S. Repeating Arms under the Winchester brand until they ceased to manufacture rifles in 2006. Winchester has revived the model 94 and currently produces an 1894 since around 2012

Over the years the Winchester Model 94 was available in many different calibers, for example: the .22 magnum, .38 Special/.357 Magnum, .44 Special/.44 Magnum, .45 Colt (or .45 Long Colt), .38-40 Winchester, and .44-40 Winchester, .410 shotgun, 30-30 caliber (30 WCF), and even as large as the .450 Marlin, which the rifle was able to accept due to an extremely strong receiver.
